Wedding photography at Hafod Farm

Hafod Farm is a wedding venue located between Betws-y-Coed and Llanwrst. Its relaxed vibe and rural location make it a perfect venue for a country wedding. So, instead of our usual wedding round-up, we’ve been inspired to use a recent wedding at the venue to create a set of country wedding styling tips.

These tips are based on Ben and Morwenna’s wedding, which took place on a summer’s day with a mix of blue sky and cloud. But, as you can see from the pictures, the couple’s colour scheme created some great pops of colour:

So let’s look at the styling in more detail…

Hafod Farm itself is a lovely venue for wedding photography, as it combines old buildings with vintage touches. It has a neutral palette to create the perfect backdrop for any colour scheme that you like. As you can see from the images below, the ceremony room is a white space made cosy by the glow from a multitude of candles. Meanwhile, the reception room is light, spacious and full of vintage details, including rustic wood and vintage-style furniture and mirrors:

Ben and Morwenna’s colour scheme suited the venue perfectly. The country-style flowers fitted with the neutral backdrop, while bright pops of colour were provided by a gorgeous selection of yellows and blues:

Note the clever use of a vintage-style teapot for the flowers!

Natural materials featured strongly in the decor scheme, as you can see from the groom’s buttonhole, where the twine is really effective:

We also liked the country effect created by the use of burlap and lace in the reception decor. Baby’s breath is a great idea, as it’s so inexpensive and always adds a country feel. The flower vase is interesting too: a great look constructed from a jam jar, burlap and lace, perfect!

We love the concept of using old crates to create a display, while wooden hearts and a chalkboard provide harmonious accents:

Several dogs attended the wedding, including a corgi guest of honour. A really personal touch was to extend the couple’s love of their dog to the wedding cake, or, in this case, the wedding cupcakes:

And here are some of the four-legged guests, including (from the top) a beautiful rescue dog from Spain, pictured here quietly watching the ceremony, and (at the bottom) a four-month-old cockerpoo, who fell asleep during the speeches and then woke up with a start and a bark when everyone clapped!

Overall, Hafod Farm provided a lovely backdrop to a well-designed country wedding.
