Country wedding photography in Llangollen

This lovely couple were married on an unusually warm Spring afternoon at the Rivercatcher Holiday Cottages near Llangollen. It was an intimate wedding with the couple’s immediate family in attendance, which made for lots of joy and laughter, alongside a relaxed vibe. We found that the location, the couple and their guests, coupled with the gorgeous weather, made for some great wedding photography.

Thank you so much for helping to make our wedding day so fantastic. We really love the photos! Again thank you so much for your relaxed yet professional style.

Jane, our female photographer, started with images of the bride getting ready, while our lead photographer, Geoff, captured images of the groom. The bride was stationed in the Rivercatcher’s Cilan Farmhouse, a large yet cosy space which became the location for the wedding breakfast. Here are just a few of the pre-ceremony images:

The ceremony room itself is a light, bright space. A highlight of this particular wedding was the bride’s brother providing the musical accompaniment on his guitar. Here are a few of the images we captured of the ceremony:

The glorious weather meant that the couple and their guests could spill out into the gardens. We were able to take some lovely, relaxed family pictures, although our favourite image is the one below of the two Dads working the champagne station!

We always love to go with the flow of a wedding, so after everyone had finished their congratulations and their drinks, we spent some time with the bride and groom to capture images of just the two of them. Our natural, unposed style suits country weddings perfectly! We also photographed details such as the bouquet, which we always recommend as it’s a good way of remembering them in years to come. Here are just a few of the images we captured:

Aren’t the flowers beautiful?! We love their informality, which indeed summed up the whole day perfectly. All in all, it was a lovely wedding, and the location comes highly recommended. There are cottages and lodges for wedding guests dotted all over the site, some with their own hot tubs, and even better, the site is dog-friendly. With rolling meadows and the River Dee flowing alongside, it’s a beautiful spot for a country wedding.
